On the other side, Yandy Díaz has been one of Tampa Bay’s most steady bats this year. The first baseman is slashing .283 with 18 home runs, 19 doubles, and 36 walks, ranking 40th in the majors in homers and 30th in RBIs.
Junior Caminero has provided the pop in the Rays’ order, leading the club with 27 home runs and 71 RBIs, good for sixth and 14th in the majors, respectively. The 21-year-old slugger has emerged as a genuine threat in the middle of the lineup.
Jonathan Aranda has brought consistency, too, posting a .316 batting average, while Brandon Lowe has chipped in with a .275 mark to go along with 19 homers and 12 doubles.
Shane Baz is set to take the mound for Tampa Bay. The 26-year-old right-hander has shown flashes of potential in 2025 but has been up and down overall. Through 21 starts (119 innings), Baz owns an 8-7 record with a 4.61 ERA and 1.30 WHIP, respectable numbers but still looking for more consistency.
Los Angeles Dodgers team news
Shohei Ohtani continues to power the Dodgers’ offense with jaw-dropping consistency. He enters Friday with 38 home runs and 73 RBIs — both tops on the club. Those numbers put Ohtani second in all of baseball in long balls and 11th in run production.
While Betts hasn’t put up eye-popping numbers this season, he’s still a key presence in the Dodgers’ lineup. The star outfielder is hitting .240 with 11 home runs, 15 doubles, and 41 walks. Across the league, Betts ranks 122nd in homers and 89th in RBIs.
Behind the plate, Will Smith has quietly become one of the Dodgers’ most consistent hitters. He’s batting a team-best .325 and comes into this one with hits in back-to-back games. Over his last five appearances, Smith is slashing .353 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
Rookie Andy Pages has made an impact as well, posting a .281 average with 17 doubles, a triple, and 19 home runs. He’s recorded at least one hit in three straight games, though he’s been in a bit of a funk lately, batting just .182 over his last five outings.
Taking the hill for L.A. on Friday is future Hall-of-Famer Clayton Kershaw. The veteran lefty has turned in a solid campaign in limited action, going 4-2 with a 3.62 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 12 starts (59.2 innings). While not quite in Cy Young form, Kershaw’s experience and command continue to serve him well.
