BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Orioles-owned Mid-Atlantic Sports Network and the Washington Nationals have begun talks over whether the Nats will continue to share a television network with the Orioles, team president of business operations Catie Griggs told The Baltimore Sun.

Under a recent legal settlement, the Nationals, who have shared MASN with the Orioles for 20 years, can move their broadcasts to another network beginning next season.

MASN, which is majority-owned by the Orioles and broadcasts both teams’ games, began discussions with the Nats earlier in July, Griggs said on Thursday. MASN is hoping to preserve the partnership.

“National fans and Orioles fans have had a long history of knowing that they can find high-quality content on MASN,” Griggs said. “And so I think that’s something where that would be a part of the conversation. But ultimately, we understand that they have a number of things that they’re looking to optimize around for their organization, but also for their fans. And so we’ll have those conversations and see where it lands.”
