The Cincinnati Reds kick off Friday’s slate of games with an afternoon matchup against the Atlanta Braves.

With less than 60 games remaining in the regular season, time is quickly running out for the Cincinnati Reds in their efforts of securing one of the three highly coveted wildcard spots.

Heading into Friday, the Reds offense will have the opportunity to help spark a hot stretch of play as they are set to face off against the Atlanta Braves Bryce Elder who has struggled with his command this season.

With fifteen games taking place on Friday’s slate, there are plenty of prop bets and markets to groom through which you can read a detailed breakdown of them below.

Atlanta Braves vs Cincinnati Reds (12:40pm, EST)

Bryce Elder Over 2.5 Earned Runs: (-150) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Even when supported by a defense who excels in coverage, it has been a rough year for Bryce Elder as the Atlanta Braves pitcher has had little to no control of his command on the mound.

As of writing, Elder is averaging an ERA of 6.29, a WHIP of 1.615, and a FIP of 5.33. His inability to avoid contact has played a major role in his struggles as he also averages over one Hit Allowed per Inning Pitched.

Heading into Friday’s afternoon contest against Cincinnati, expect Elder to continue to underwhelm as he faces off against a Reds offense who ranks above league average in Contact Rate, On Base Percentage, and in Slugger Percentage.

When on base, the Reds have been able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities as they also rank top-12 in RBIs and in Total Runs Scored.

Bryce Elder Under 15.5 Outs: (-113) at FanDuel Sportsbook

With the Reds offense projected to thrive, this hurts Bryce Elder’s chances of going the full length of his start. Especially if the Reds top of their order opens up the scoring from the opening pitch which applies serious pressure on the Braves to pull Elder early on in the contest.

If the total on Elder’s Outs prop crosses through the key number of 15.5, then pass on this market.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Washington Nationals (6:45pm, EST)

Milwaukee Brewers First Five Innings Team Total Over 2.5: (-105) at BetMGM Sportsbook

Like Elder, Mitchell Parker has also severely underwhelmed this season due to his lack of command as the Washington Nationals pitcher is currently averaging an ERA of 4.91, a WHIP of 1.408, and a FIP of 4.47. His low Whiff Rate hurts his ability of keeping opposing runners off the bases as he also averages less than one Strikeout and more than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched.

Unfortunately for Parker, his struggles on the mound are poised to persist as he faces off against a Milwaukee Brewers offense who ranks near the top of the board in Contact Rate and in On Base Percentage. Especially with his back end failing to play at a competitive level as the Nationals defense ranks 28th overall in Defensive Efficiency.

Sal Frelick Over 1.5 Hits: (+165) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Sal Frelick has helped spark Milwaukee’s resurgence on offense as the Brewers batter is currently averaging over one Hit per game, a .292 Batting Average, and a .756 OPS. With Parker struggling to avoid contact, as well as the Nationals back end underwhelming in coverage, expect Frelick to continue to generate Hits at a consistent rate and clear the over on his Hits prop.

San Francisco Giants vs New York Mets (7:10pm, EST)

David Peterson Over 4.5 Strikeouts: (-150) at FanDuel Sportsbook

It has been a forgettable year for the San Francisco Giants underwhelming offense as they have consistently struggled with generating Hits this season.

As of writing, the Giants offense ranks below league average in Contact Rate, Slugger Percentage, and in On Base Percentage.

With David Peterson on the mound, expect the Giants to continue to struggle with making contact as the New York Mets pitcher is currently averaging an ERA of 2.83, a FIP of 3.34, and less than one Hit per Inning Pitched.

For some more exposure, escalator bet Peterson’s Strikeout prop by placing smaller wagers on his alternate totals at the best available odds across multiple sportsbooks.
