The Houston Astros completed a three-game sweep of their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, but at press time Monday the Dodgers led the National League West Division by seven games.

Christian Walker and Yainar Diaz hit back-to-back solo home runs in the eighth inning, Jose Altuve hit a solo shot in the ninth and the Astros beat the Dodgers 5-1 at Los Angeles Sunday to complete the sweep.

At press time Monday, the Dodgers still led the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants by a comfortable seven games in the NL West.

At press time, the Detroit Tigers, owners of the best record in MLB at 57-34, had fattened their lead over the second-place Minnesota Twins to 13.5 games in the American League Central.

The Dodgers were to open their series at Milwaukee. The Padres were to host the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Los Angeles Angels were to host the Texas Rangers in season openers Monday.    Â
