The NBA offseason calendar has flipped to August as now is the time for players to begin preparation for the upcoming season. Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is continuing to rehab as he works his way back from April knee surgery–his second in 14 months–but appears to be in good spirits.
The Philadelphia Phillies are continuing their march to the postseason, and on Saturday, played host to the Detroit Tigers. The contest featured an excellent pitching matchup as Zack Wheeler took the mound for Philadelphia while Tarik Skubal was on the bump for Detroit. The two are legitimate contenders for the Cy Young award in their respective leagues.

Embiid pulled up to Citizens Bank Park–as he does regularly–to take in the Phillies vs. Tigers matchup.
The Sixers will be counting on Embiid to be ready to roll when training camp begins. After playing only 19 games due to the left knee limiting him, the big fella is taking his time and hopes to be ready for when the season begins in October.
