STANVILLE — Betsy Layne edged Morgan County 6-5 on Monday, April 28. 

Hannah Jarrell pitched a complete game for Betsy Layne and earned the win in the circle. Jarrell recorded five strikeouts. 

Betsy Layne scored six runs on nine hits. Jayden Jarrell (two hits, one RBI), Laiken Keathley (two hits), Allison Hamilton (two hits), Rylie McPeek (one hit, two RBIs), Miley Burchett (one hit) and Hailey Carroll (one hit) each produced offensively for the Ladycats. Providing a lift at the plate, McPeek hit her third home run in the 2025 high school softball season. Delivering a pair of extra-base hits, Jayden Jarrell doubled and tripled. 

Betsy Layne notched its second win over Morgan County in the 2025 high school softball season. 

East Ridge 11, Betsy Layne 4: East Ridge defeated visiting Betsy Layne 11-4 on Tuesday, April 29. 

Hannah Jarrell pitched a complete game for Betsy Layne and took the loss in the circle. Jarrell struck out one East Ridge batter.

Senior catcher Rylie McPeek homered in Betsy Layne’s 6-5 win over Morgan County on Monday, Apri 28. It was McPeek’s third home run in the 2025 high school softball season.

Betsy Layne plated four runs on six hits. Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Jarrell connected for one hit. Miley Burchett paced Betsy Layne offensively, supplying two hits. Burchett, who drove in two of Betsy Layne’s four runs, doubled. 

Along with Jarrell, Laiken Keathley, Rylie McPeek and Hailey Carroll added one hit apiece for the Ladycats. McPeek, the top power hitter for Betsy Layne, drove in one run. 

Besty Layne suffered the loss after defeating East Ridge 17-2 in four innings in its season opener.
