MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Brewers announced on Sunday morning that the organization has placed rookie phenom pitcher Jacob Misiorowski onto the 15-day injured list.
It was later discovered that Misiorowski had suffered a left tibia contusion in Milwaukee’s first game of their recent series with the Cubs on July 28. He would still pitch for the three innings to follow when the injury occurred, while striking out seven in the Brewers 8-4 win over Chicago.
“Our pitching guys noticed during the week that the throwing programs and the bullpen, something just wasn’t right,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said. “We just want to be smart about taking care of the kid. He’s got a big future, hopefully. He’ll try to push through because he’s young, and we want to keep him from making those types of decisions unless we know he’s 100%.”

As a result, Milwaukee called up RHP Logan Henderson from Triple-A Nashville to make his first MLB start since May. Henderson would pitch four scoreless innings while striking out four in the Brewers’ 14-3 win over Washington on Sunday afternoon.
Following his showing, Henderson now holds a 1.78 ERA along with a total of 33 strikeouts in his 25.1 MLB innings pitched.
Milwaukee now hopes to have Misiorowski back on the mound once he makes a full recovery, which is expected to be within these 15 days on the injured list.
“We don’t think it will be any longer than the allotted time, but we want to take this precaution,” Murphy said.
Milwaukee now prepares to head down to Atlanta for a three-game series, following their weekend series sweep over the Nationals in DC. First pitch for game one of the Brewers and the Braves is set for Monday at 6:15 p.m. at Truist Park in Atlanta.
