Probable starting pitchers and start times: RHP Slade Cecconi (5-7, 3.77) vs. LHP Sean Manaea (1-1, 2.08) on Monday at 7:10 p.m.; LHP Logan Allen (7-9, 4.06) vs. RHP Clay Holmes (9-6, 3.45) on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.; RHP Gavin Williams (6-4, 3.33) vs. LHP David Peterson (7-4, 2.83) on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m.
Series: The Guardians swept the New York in three games at Progressive Field last season. The Mets lead the all-time series, 16-8.
Mets update (63-48): New York entered play Sunday having lost four straight on the heels of a seven-game winning streak. The Mets’ .685 winning percentage at Citi Field is the best in the majors. New York entered Sunday’s series finale against San Francisco with 29 consecutive stolen bases as a team, the longest active streak in baseball. The Mets are one of three teams in baseball to feature at least three players with 20 home runs or more each in Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto. Lindor’s eight career leadoff home runs for the Mets is tied for fourth most in franchise history with Lenny Dykstra.
Guardians update (56-54): The Guardians entered play Sunday at 16-6 since July 7, the best record in the American League over that span. Since the start of July, Cleveland’s bullpen has the third lowest ERA in the majors at 2.37. As of Saturday, Cleveland relievers had allowed 55 hits since July 1, also the fewest in the big leagues. The Guardians have scored 120 runs and averaged 5.45 runs per game in their previous 22 contests entering play Sunday. José Ramírez has 38 multi-hit games, tied for the second most in baseball with Aaron Judge. Steven Kwan’s 117 hits from the leadoff spot are the most in MLB.

Minter (left lat surgery), LHP Danny Young (left elbow ligament sprain), INF Nick Madrigal (fractured left shoulder), RHP Christian Scott (sprained UCL) are on the injured list.
Guardians: OF Lane Thomas (plantar fasciitis), RHP Andrew Walters (right lat), OF Will Brennan (right elbow), RHP Ben Lively (right elbow), RHP Trevor Stephan (right elbow), LHP John Means (left elbow) and LHP Sam Hentges (left shoulder) are on the injured list.
