KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Tanner Franklin has gone from Jefferson County High School to the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
St. Louis selected Franklin in the second round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
Franklin spent just one season at Tennessee after transferring from Kennesaw State.
The Dandridge native made 27 appearances with one start in 2025. Franklin set career-highs in appearances, strikeouts (52), and ERA (4.89).
Franklin will reunite with fellow Tennessee pitcher Liam Doyle in the Cardinals organization. Doyle was chosen fifth overall by St. Louis.
