MOORHEAD, Miss. (WDAM) – A former Golden Eagle is taking the reins of the baseball program at Mississippi Delta Community College.
MDCC announced Monday that Danny Lynch was selected to lead the Trojans in the upcoming baseball season.
Lynch was the director of hitting and infield development at The University of Southern Mississippi during 2024-2025 after being elevated from graduate assistant (2023-2024).
During those two seasons, Lynch was a part of a team that hosted a 2025 NCAA Regional-hosting team, as well as a conference champion in 2024.
Lynch played at USM from 2018-2019 until the spring of 2022-23.
He was a member of teams that went to four, consecutive NCAA regionals, including a hosting role in 2022.
Lynch also helped the Golden Eagles win three, conference championships during that period.
He captained the 2022 and 2023 teams that both won regionals and hosted the first- and second-ever Hattiesburg Super Regionals.
Lynch has appeared in more USM baseball games than any other Golden Eagle.
