Nearly two months after high school baseball season ended in the Lone Star State, the Texas Sports Writers Association has released its all-state teams.

Following another exciting year, 14 players from the Texas Panhandle earned spots on the organization’s list. Each UIL classification was represented with first, second and third teams, as well as honorable mentions.

The only exception is Class 1A, which featured just two teams and an honorable mention list. There are zero Class 6A schools in the Texas Panhandle, but the area was represented in each of the other classifications.

This past season, Nazareth, Gruver, West Plains and Amarillo High all reached the regional semifinals, making the deepest runs of any teams in the Amarillo area.

As a result, the region is well-represented on the TSWA All-State teams. Here’s who made the cut.

Class 5A

Amarillo High’s Austin Sluder was the only Class 5A TWSA All-State selection from the Texas Panhandle, earning honorable mention recognition as an outfielder.

Class 4A

Class 4A featured the heaviest concentration of Texas Panhandle representatives, as seven players from the area earned spots on TSWA’s list.

Hereford first baseman Tell Bryant, who is set to begin his career at Amarillo College in 2025-26, earned second-team All-State honors, while Canyon outfielder Jacob Burris and shortstop Carson Allen, a Tarleton State pledge, were named to the third team.

West Plains shortstop and West Texas A&M commit Ethan Bentley, Pampa catcher Max Neff, Hereford second baseman Noah Zamora and Canyon outfielder Andrew Bellino were all recognized on the honorable mentions list.

Class 3A

Dalhart shortstop Kevin Rios and Bushland outfielders Max Rodriguez and Colton Reynolds were all named honorable mentions on the TSWA’s Class 3A All-State team.

After graduating from BHS in May, Rodriguez will continue his baseball career at Wayland Baptist, while Reynolds, the son of Falcons’ head football coach Josh Reynolds, is heading to Friends University, where he will play football.

Class 2A

After helping Gruver to the regional semifinals, multi-sport star Stephen Cowan was named second-team all-state at second base.

The only other Amarillo-area player to earn a spot on TWSA’s Class 2A list was Sunray shortstop Luke Grajeda, who was also a key member of the Bobcats football team that went 12-1 in 2024.

Class 1A

The only Class 1A All-State selection in the Texas Panhandle was Nazareth star Breck Proctor.

Proctor helped the Swifts to the regional semifinals by playing multiple positions — including pitcher —but was recognized by TSWA for his efforts in the outfield.
