Ridley graduate Ethan Pecko is moving up the ranks for the Houston Astros.

The right-handed pitcher was promoted to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, a quick rise barely two years into his professional career.

Pecko went 2-6 with a 4.40 ERA in 11 appearances (10 starts) with Corpus Christi. He’s struck out 45 batters in 43 innings against 15 walks and 37 hits. Batters are hitting just .239 against him, and his WHIP is a solid 1.21.

Pecko had a 1.75 ERA in 25.2 innings in July, named Houston’s upper-level Minor League Pitcher of the Month. He is rated by MLB as the 10th-best prospect in Houston’s system, with nine of the top 15 right-handed pitchers like him.

Pecko, 22, stands 6-2 and 195 pounds. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 draft out of Towson. He spent his freshman year at La Salle, though he didn’t play due to injury.
