ARLINGTON — The locker closest to the Texas Rangers home clubhouse entrance is occupied by third baseman Josh Jung. The cubby two spots down belongs to shortstop Corey Seager.

The one in between the two, on Tuesday at least, was designated for Vincent Gaggiano.

Gaggiano, 13, spent Tuesday’s game vs. the New York Yankees at Globe Life Field with the Rangers on behalf of the Make-A-Wish foundation, a nonprofit organization designed to help fulfill the dreams of children with critical illnesses.

Gaggiano played catch on the field with outfielder Wyatt Langford during the team’s warmups and met Carter afterwards. He said that Carter is his favorite player because of the similarities he shares with the 22-year-old center fielder.

“I always liked him because he plays outfield,” Gaggiano said, “bats lefty and throws righty.”
