Sights, sounds from Brewers’ 25th anniversary of American Family Field

The Milwaukee Brewers held a 25th anniversary celebration of American Family Field on July 25, 2025.

ATLANTA – Rinse and repeat.

More scrappy offense. Continued stellar pitching. A few breaks here and there.

And, in the end, another victory for the Milwaukee Brewers, whose 5-1 decision over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night, Aug. 5 at Truist Park was their fifth in as many games on their current road trip while also continuing their almost mind-bending tear atop the entirety of the major leagues.

BOX SCORE: Brewers 7, Braves 2

At 69-44 now with 113 games in the books, the Brewers have reached 25 games over .500 faster than any other team in club history.

And with the Chicago Cubs falling for the second straight night to the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field, Milwaukee’s lead in the Central Division is now a full four games.

Andrew Vaughn and Isaac Collins drove in two runs apiece and Freddy Peralta turned in a labor-intensive, five-inning start to improve to win his 13th game – a career high and National League-leading total.

Isaac Collins keeps on raking

Tyler Kinney and Austin Cox combined to walk the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh, bringing Collins to the plate.

He responded by ripping a two-run single to center in a 2-2 count, upping Milwaukee’s lead to 7-1.

What more can be said about the play of Collins of late? He’s been indispensable, and one of Milwaukee’s best players.

Atlanta made it 7-2 in the bottom of the seventh against Aaron Ashby, who threw 28 pitches in allowing a leadoff single and then three walks – the third of which to Eli White forced home a run.

Ashby responded with a much more economical 10-pitch inning in the eighth.

All the breaks going Milwaukee’s way

With one out in the sixth, Collins sent a liner right at Jurickson Profar in left. He badly misread it and the ball sailed over his head and rolled to the wall, leaving Collins with a triple.

Brice Turang, up next, rifled a single to center and the Brewers’ lead grew to 5-1.

The Braves threatened in the bottom of the frame when Collins misplayed a fly ball to right into a double, Nacho Alvarez Jr. reached on an infield single and pinch-hitter Marcell Ozuna walked with two outs against Nick Mears.

Mears then fell behind Profar, 3-0, before striking him out on the next three pitches to maintain the 5-1 advantage.

Braves get on the board

Peralta successfully navigated around a pair of singles in the first inning and consecutive walks to start the third before the Braves finally got onto the scoreboard against him in the fourth on a two-out, solo homer to left by Eli White.

Peralta followed with a walk, extending his already high pitch count further. A two-out single by Drake Baldwin in the fifth forced a battle with Sean Murphy that Peralta ultimately won with a strikeout but his night was complete at that point having tied a season high with 108 pitches.

He allowed four hits, the run and three walks with seven strikeouts.

Andrew Vaughn just keeps doing it

Blake Perkins singled to start the third for the Brewers’ first hit. Two batters later, Joey Ortiz singled and then Caleb Durbin walked to load the bases.

After William Contreras flew out, Christian Yelich chopped an infield single to the right of the mound that plated Perkins. Then, with Vaughn at the plate, Ortiz scored on a wild pitch.

Finally, to cap a 12-pitch at-bat, Vaughn roped a two-run single to left to put Milwaukee in front by a score of 4-0.

His Brewers line afterward: .375 average, six homers, 26 RBI, 1.115 OPS in 21 games.
