The Milwaukee Brewers have been in excellent form, but they’ll have to get through Braves starter Spencer Strider this afternoon to keep that run going.
As the Brewers have surged ahead in their own division, the Braves have stumbled through a 9-20 stretch since the start of July.
The Brewers will hand the ball to Quintana tonight, who has been remarkably consistent. While not dominant, his 3.69 ERA over his last seven starts has provided a baseline of performance for Milwaukee. He has surrendered at least one home run in four of his last five starts, but if he manages to limit the longball, he could stifle this disappointing Braves lineup.
In the lineup, Sal Frelick is back in the leadoff spot, joined in the outfield grass by centerfielder Blake Perkins and left fielder Isaac Collins. That leaves Christian Yelich free to handle designated hitting duties.
Behind the plate, William Contreras makes the start. He’s elevated his performance recently, in line with the team’s continued success. Over the last 15 games now, Contreras is slashing .311/.377/.508.
Around the infield, Anthon Seigler, Joey Ortiz, Brice Turang, and Andrew Vaughn fill out the defense.
First pitch tonight is at 6:15 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
