Well, friends, we have officially survived the great Bless You Boys site transition. It was touch-and-go there for a moment, and there are still some hiccups that we’ll need to feel out, but we’re so happy to be back on our regular posting schedule.
What we’re less happy about is the current trajectory the Tigers are on. The three-game series against the Minnesota Twins was meant to be an easy win for the Tigers, who really needed a series win to bolster their flagging spirits. It turned out to be anything but, as pitchers struggled, bats were cold, and things just went wrong all over the place. With other teams lurking behind them in the AL Central race, they’ll need to turn things around soon.
We get into that and much more (Shohei Ohtani’s 1000th hit! MLB’s first female umpire!) below. So enjoy!
I mean, we didn’t do enough to win the game and win the series. Obviously they did, so it kind of depends on your perspective. But we’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’ve got a lot of things to address… Right now we’re taking it on the chin in games. At least in the last week, we’ve been riding this roller coaster of good and bad over the course of a few series. This one’s frustrating because it’s a series that we feel like we can win if we perform. And when you don’t at this level, you’re reminded why it’s the toughest level.”
