There are 47 games left on the schedule this season, but the Pittsburgh Pirates are already looking towards 2026 and beyond.
The Pirates are 49-66 and are remain buried in the National League Central, but there is still a lot to try and get a read on between now and the end of the year.
Liover Peguero is among the younger players who will receive an extended look over the final seven or eight weeks of the season, and more will be coming. Ben Cherington is no doubt on the hot seat, but he’s still the head of the front office.
The draft is long gone. The trade deadline has passed. But there’s still a lot going on with the Bucs.
