Detroit Tigers’ Scott Harris on bullpen market at trade deadline
Detroit Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris talks July 31, 2025, about his evaluation of the bullpen market at the trade deadline.
A new reliever has entered Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers promoted right-handed reliever Codi Heuer from Triple-A Toledo on Friday, Aug. 8, before the opener of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels.
The Tigers acquired Heuer from the Texas Rangers at the July 31 trade deadline for cash considerations, then assigned him to Triple-A Toledo. Heuer has not given up a run in two appearances with Triple-A Toledo.
To crate space for Heuer, right-handed reliever Luke Jackson was designated for assignment. Removing Jackson opened a spot for Heuer on the 26-man roster, but Heuer was already on the 40-man roster.
The 40-man roster is now at 39 players.
