ATLANTA — The Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves, 5-1, on Friday at Truist Park, marking the 11th of 15 regular season games broadcast live on Gray Media in 2025.
The Braves were fooled by Marlins starter Edward Cabrera all throughout, recording just two hits and one run off the right-hander, which came off a Jurickson Profar solo home run in the sixth inning. Cabrera struck out 11 hitters in eight innings of work.
Right-hander Bryce Elder took the mound for Atlanta, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and three walks across six innings of work. His ERA is 6.12 on the season.
The Braves play two games against the Marlins – 1:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. start times – on Saturday while wrapping up the five-game set Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Right-hander Hurston Waldrep will start the first game for Atlanta while Erick Fedde will start the second. Southpaw Joey Wentz will take the mound Sunday.
Atlanta will then head to New York to open a three-game series against the Mets on Tuesday.
