The Yankees and the Mets both entered the 2025 Major League Baseball season with high expectations. The Yankees were coming off a World Series appearance, losing to the Dodgers. The Mets, meanwhile, made the playoffs last year and signed Juan Soto to a record-setting $700 million contract in free agency.

While both the Yankees and the Mets started the year in good fashion, things have not been going well as of late.
It’s gotten so bad that fans of the Yankees and the Mets are convinced that their respective teams might be “cursed” in 2025. Seriously – that’s what’s happening in New York right now.

Fans of the Yankees and the Mets are joking that they might be “cursed” teams right now.
“If the two New York baseball teams just forfeited the rest of their seasons, would either fanbase care at this point?” one fan wrote.
“I’m already checked out,” one fan added.
“Yankees are cursed, right?” one fan added.
“The Mets might be cursed,” another fan suggested.
The Major League Baseball season is a long one and everyone is going to go through a rough stretch or two over the course of 162 games. However, by mid-August, heading into the final month of the season, you want to be playing your best baseball.
