Molly: One of 29 dogs adopted on day one of York County SPCA’s Clear the Shelters event
Molly is one of 29 dogs adopted on day one of York County SPCA’s Clear the Shelters event in Manchester Township, Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025.
A jam-packed weekend of Susquehanna and Central League playoff baseball saw a trio of best-of-three series conclude with sweeps, while two matchups will need Game 3s to decide a winner.
East Prospect and York Township both swept their way into the Susquehanna League semifinals, where they will face each other starting Thursday. Conrads and Hallam, meanwhile, will play a third game Tuesday after road teams won both showdowns over the weekend.
The Central League opened its six-team postseason with a pair of quarterfinal series. Mechanicsburg moved on with a sweep of Jefferson and will face Mount Wolf in the next round. The series between Glen Rock and Manchester, however, remained unresolved entering the week.
Top-seeded Windsor and Stoverstown both earned byes to their respective league semifinals, opening their schedule for the York County Championship Series on Saturday and Sunday. Stoverstown continued the Central League’s recent run of success in that series by winning Games 2 and 3 in identical 3-0 fashion Sunday over the Susquehanna League regular-season champions. The Tigers have claimed the title in back-to-back years.
