Narrowly avoiding a series sweep over the weekend, the White Sox have cooled down significantly. But there is some good news — so have the Tigers!
If you are looking at the lineup for tonight’s matchup and wondering who Elvis Peguero is, don’t worry! I was also clueless, and I cover this team.
Peguero was claimed off waivers on Aug. 3, 2025, by the White Sox. He began his career as an international free agent in 2016 and was subsequently signed by the Yankees. He spent most of his time in the lower leagues and the Dominican Summer League. He was traded to the Angels in 2021 and briefly joined my favorite team, the Rocket City Trash Pandas. He went to the Brewers in 2022 and made his MLB debut in April of this year. He was DFA’d by Milwaukee on July 31, 2025, and the White Sox snapped him right up.
The rest of the lineup looks normal.
The Tigers will put Chris Paddack (4-10) on the mound tonight. Paddack has a lofty 4.91 ERA and 88 strikeouts. As mentioned earlier, the Tigers have had a tough time lately. But never discount the power hitters on the team.
First pitch is 6:40 p.m. CT. You can watch on CHSN or listen on ESPN Chicago 1000.
