BRANDON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -There were 2 more 2nd round Class B games Tuesday night at Aspen Park in Brandon at the State Amateur Baseball Tournament.
In the first game of the night the Parkston Rays continued their march toward the title game with a 5-3 win over Dell Rapids-PBR.
Carter Sommer went 8 innings and gave up 6 hits and 0 ER and Jake Helleloid worked out of a jam in the 9th when PBR rallied with 2 runs.
In the final game, it was a pitcher’s dual between Milbank and Kimball/White Lake that was scoreless into the 5th inning when KWL scored twice. They broke the game wide open in the bottom of the 8th with a big 8-run rally which ended the game at 10-0.
Both winners tonight advance to the 3rd round and will play each other Thursday night in the late game. Tuesday’s 2nd round games feature Clark vs. Castlewood and Platte against Four Corners.
