Johnny Damon has remained one of Major League Baseball’s most recognisable outfielders for nearly two decades.

Damon signed with the Red Sox in 2001, a decision that determined his future fame and brought him several major titles. His major triumph was winning the 2004 World Series, when the Red Sox broke the “Curse of the Bambino” for the first time in 86 years.

He would then turn into an enemy by signing with the Yankees after the 2005 season. He still remained recognizable.

Those days are over.

Johnny Damon underwent a couple of physical transformations during his career, but nothing prepared fans for what they would see recently.

On Saturday, Damon turned heads.

While appearing in uniform at Yankee Stadium, Damon featured a shaved face and the long hair he became famous for while making two All-Star teams with the Red Sox.

As an older gentleman these days, he has also put on quite a bit of weight, which has led to a difference in his face and body.

Known for his speed, consistent hitting, and charismatic personality, Damon retired with over 2,700 hits, 1,139 RBIs, and 408 stolen bases.

Johnny Damon is among the more unique athletes in Boston and New York sports history.

He was beloved in Boston when he helped lead the Red Sox to the ultimate high of the 2004 World Series Championship, only to become hated years later when he crossed over to the dark side and joined the New York Yankees.

He signed with the hated Yankees in the 2005 offseason.

He played a pivotal role in breaking Boston’s 86-year championship drought with their historic 2004 World Series win and later captured a second title with the Yankees in 2009.

He is one of the few players to ever accomplish that feat.
