The Los Angeles Dodgers’ lead in the National League West Division is down to a single game.

The Los Angeles Angels beat the Dodgers 7-4 at Anaheim Monday night. That result, coupled with the San Diego Padres’ 4-1 win at San Francisco, left the Dodgers with just a one-game lead over the Padres.

Catcher Freddy Fermin lifted the Padres Monday with just his fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the seventh inning.

Zach Neto led off the bottom of the first for the Angels with a solo home run. He hit another solo blast in the sixth.

The Angels led 7-0 in the eighth inning before Shohei Ohtani hit his 42nd home run of the year, a solo blast, and Max Muncy hit a three-run homer. The Dodgers’ rally ended there.

The Padres and Giants, and Dodgers were scheduled to resume their respective three-game series Tuesday and end their series Wednesday.
