Major League Baseball on Tuesday announced the 2025 postseason schedule, which follows the same rubric as last year. If the World Series goes the distance, the season will end on Saturday, November 1.
With the regular season concluding on Sunday, September 28, the four best-of-3 wild card series will all start on Tuesday, September 30 and last potentially through Thursday. For the wild card round, the higher-seeded team hosts the entire series, whether it lasts two or three games. Wild card games will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC.

Both the National League and American League Division Series will start on Saturday, October 4, with TBS televising the NLDS and NLCS, and Fox and/or FS1 taking the ALDS and ALCS. This year it’s the National League that gets the odd off day between Games 1 and 2, to split up the leagues and minimize MLB days with no baseball.

Game 1: Saturday, October 4
Game 2: Monday, October 6
Game 3: Wednesday, October 8
Game 4*: Thursday, October 9
Game 5*: Saturday, October 11

The National League Championship Series begins on Monday, October 13 with a straight 2-3-2 format, with Game 7 set for Tuesday, October 21, all televised by TBS

Friday, October 24 is set for Game 1 of the World Series, with a 2-3-2 format all televised by Fox, with Joe Davis and John Smoltz on the call. Game 6, if necessary, is set for Halloween, and a potential Game 7 would mean November baseball.
