Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 8, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Marlins) 4 (F/10)

The Tides scored four runs in the 5th to go on top, and four more runs in the 10th to take a victory from the Jumbo Shrimp in Jacksonville.

Norfolk entered the 5th down 3-0 after starter Cameron Weston gave up a three-spot in the 3rd. Jud Fabian opened the inning with a walk and then moved to second on a single from José Barrero. TT Bowens then made sure both could walk home, pulling a slider over the left field fence for a three-rue, game-tying homer. Reed Trimble followed that blast with a double, and Samuel Basallo singled him home to give Norfolk a 4-3 lead.

Jacksonville would tie the game on an RBI single in the 8th, setting the stage for the Tides extra-inning explosion. Tied at four in the 1oth, Emmanuel Rivera and Fabian walked to load the bases. That set the stage for Barrero to be the hero, as the 27-year-old got a hanging slider and blasted it to left to put the Tides on top for good.

Double-A: Erie SeaWolves (Tigers) 10, Chesapeake Baysox 6

All 16 runs were scored across the first four innings, and the SeaWolves bats got the last laugh as Erie took Game 1 from Chesapeake. Albert Suárez made his first rehab appearance, pitching for the first time since the Orioles second game of the season on March 28th. There was clearly plenty of rust for Suárez, who allowed a single and a two-run home run to the first to batters he faced. He then gave up two more runs in the 2nd thanks to a pair of doubles and a sac fly. The 35-year-old finished with a final line of 2.0 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 1 BB and 0 K.

Chesapeake took a brief lead in the bottom of the 2nd thanks to a rare display of power from Enrique Bradfield Jr.. Trailing 4-1, Adam Retzbach and Max Wagner started the innings with back-to-back doubles to get the Baysox their second run of the game. After an Anthony Servideo walk, Bradfield jumped on the first pitch he saw, send it the other way over the left-center fence for his second home run of the season.

That lead didn’t last very long, however, as Erie would score three in the 3rd and another three runs in the 4th to take the lead for good. It was an up-and-down outing for Blake Money in relief of Suarez. The big right-hander out of LSU allowed six hits, six runs and two homers over his first two innings of work, but settled in and tossed four hitless innings with seven Ks to close his evening.

High-A: Aberdeen IronBirds 5, Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees) 2

The IronBirds scored five runs across the last three innings to steal a win from the Renegades in the series opener.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the 7th, Ethan Anderson and Griff O’Ferrall worked back-to-back walks to put the tying run on second. After a Thomas Sosa pop out, Victor Figueroa walked to load the bases. Anderson De Los Santos then worked Aberdeen’s fourth free pass of the inning, forcing in a run and tying the game.

In the 8th, the newly-promoted Nate George led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a throwing error. Hudson Haskin then singled home George to give Aberdeen a 2-1 lead, before moving to second on a walk and to third on a balk. O’Ferrall then registered an RBI single of his own, driving home Haskin for a 3-1 Aberdeen lead.

After Hudson Valley got a run back in the bottom of the 8th, the IronBirds added a pair of insurance runs in the 9th. Ryan Stafford led off the inning with the walk, stole second and move to third on a failed pick off attempt. George then worked a walk of his own and stole second to give the IronBirds two runners in scoring position. Yasmil Bucce and Anderson would hit back-to-back RBI singles to score both Stafford and Georeg and seal the win. Small ball was certainly the name of the game Tuesday, as Aberdeen scored their five runs on 10 walks, five singles an a lone double.

L0w-A: Lynchburg Hillcats (Guardians) 7, Delmarva Shorebirds 5

Six members of the 2025 draft class debuted for Delmarva on Tuesday, but the influx of talent wasn’t enough as the Shorebirds lost on walk-off homer.

First rounders Ike Irish, Caden Bodine and Wehiwa Aloy—as well as fellow draft picks RJ Austin, Colin Yeaman and Brayden Smith—all made the Delmarva lineup in their series opener against the Hillcats. Aloy went 2-for-5 out of the leadoff spot with a doubel and run scored on a Bodine RBI single. Aloy, Bodine and Smith all picked up a pair of hits, while Irish reached on a bloop single in the 1st. Combined, the debutants went 7-for-23 with four runs scored, three RBIs and three walks and five strikeouts.

The Shorebirds took a late lead thanks to a three-run rally in the 8th. They entered the inning with the game tied at 2-2, got their first base runner on a Bodine single and move the catcher into scoring position on an Austin walk. Cobb Hightower then singled up the middle to give Delmarva a 3-2 lead. Another single from Smith saw the Shorebirds tack on two more runs and extend their lead to 5-2.

That advantage was short-lived, however. Lynchburg scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th, setting them up for their walk-off win in the 9th. Against Shorebirds reliever Joe Glassey, the Hillcats started the final frame with a single and a double to put the winning run on second base. That run would trot home after Luis Merejo took a 1-2 pitch and sent it over the left field fence for three-run, walk-off homer.
