KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Cannon Peebles has a familiar face to look forward to seeing in the Cleveland Guardians’ draft class.
After selecting Dean Curley in the second round, the Guardians took the Tennessee catcher with the 522nd overall selection of the 2025 MLB Draft.
Peebles won a national title at Tennessee in 2024 after transferring from NC State.
The 2025 campaign was his best on Rocky Top. The Virginia native batted .253 with 11 home runs and 41 RBI.
In his two seasons at Tennessee, Peebles hit 13 home runs and totaled 65 RBI.
