BALTIMORE (WBFF) — It’s been over a year since the Orioles took their first official step toward securing the ground lease that ensures they will remain at Camden Yards through 2053.

They have yet to take a second.

Baltimore signed an access agreement with the Maryland Stadium Authority on July 2, 2024, that granted the team a license to “examine, inspect and perform tests” on the publicly owned land surrounding Camden Yards, according to documents obtained by The Baltimore Sun.

Under the terms of the stadium lease the Orioles signed in December 2023, the team has until Dec. 31 before a meeting must be scheduled with the MSA to discuss the progress of the ground lease and a master development plan for the property. However, according to both an Orioles spokesperson and Gov. Wes Moore’s office, the club hasn’t initiated any discussions so far.
