Tuesday was a big day within the Colorado Rockies ball club, as Ethan Holliday saw his first game action within the organization for the Fresno Grizzlies, the Single-A affiliate of the club. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft and the son of Rockies legend Matt Holliday, there is a lot of hope that the youngest Holliday can be the player to help bring the Rockies back to baseball prominence.
Holliday, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound infielder, went 2-for-4 at the plate on Tuesday against the Stockton Ports along with one strikeout. The first hit of his professional career was a grounded single to right field, while the second hit was a double in the fifth inning.
A solid professional debut for Ethan Holliday 💪

That swing is as smooth as butter. Fans just need to hope that the Rockies don’t mess it up as he continues to grow in the coming years.
Holliday was one of just two players on either team to record multiple hits in Tuesday’s contest, which the Grizzlies won 4-2.
The 18-year-old is the top-rated prospect in Colorado’s system, according to MLB Pipeline’s new rankings, and the No. 17 prospect in the entire league. First baseman Charlie Condon is the only other Rockie in the top 100, as he found himself at No. 60 in the ranks.
It’s going to take some time for Holliday to make his way to 20th and Blake Street, but this outing in his first professional action is hopefully a sing for fans that he has what it takes to impact winning.
