PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – After a long wait, Jacob Parker is off the board. The Purvis High School graduate has been selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Jacob Parker is the twin brother of JoJo Parker, who was the 8th overall pick of day 1. It was anticipated that Jacob would be selected early in the draft, as MLB ranked him as the 109th overall prospect. In a turn of events, his future became less clear as the rounds went on.
Arizona picked him up in round 19.
In a social media post the next day, Parker announced that instead of going pro, he will play baseball at Mississippi State next year.
His twin brother, JoJo, has already decided to forgo his commitment to Mississippi State University.
