NY Mets: What stood out about Pete Alonso breaking team home run record
Pete Alonso proved himself to be the Mets franchise’s preeminent power hitter when he set the club record with his 253rd home run on Aug. 13, 2025.
NEW YORK — The Mets’ loss on Wednesday night is going to sting.
They entered the forth inning with a six-run advantage and exited the frame with a three-run deficit.
It devolved from there for the Mets, who dropped an 11-6 defeat to the Braves.
The Mets will attempt to clean the slate in the series finale against the Braves at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday night at Citi Field.
Kodai Senga will have the responsibility if trying to turn the tide after the whole Mets rotation went a turn without pitching at least five innings.
While Senga enters with a 7-4 record and 2.39 ERA, the righty has not completed more than five innings since June 12.Â
Last time out, Senga allowed three runs (one earned) in 4.1 innings against the Brewers.
Bryce Elder takes the ball for the Braves. He is 4-9 with a 6.12 ERA and 1.55 WHIP this season.Â
