The Guardians won another series and are only a half-game back of the New York Yankees for the American League’s third wildcard.

You can read a recap of the game here. It was a masterclass in Jose Ramirez’s baserunning ability, going first to third, taking second base on a fielding miscue, and scoring with the infield drawn in on a ground out throughout the course of the night. As Stephen Vogt said after the game, “He’s the best baserunner in baseball.”

The Guardians welcome the Braves to Progressive Field tonight. The Braves’ record is bad, but, unfortunately, they have been playing well of late and have a better run differential than the Guardians. So, Cleveland will still need to be playing at the top of their game.

Tommy Pecoraro and I released an episode of the Disgusting Baseball Podcast last night where we talked about the recent Guardians’ surge, the weirdness of Bo Naylor and Nolan Jones, and offered three keys, each, for the Guardians making a playoff push.
