Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 7, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Marlins) 2

The Orioles have Kyle Bradish slated for one more rehab appearance, but the 28-year-old certainly looked ready for big league action tonight. Bradish dominated for five shutout innings. He allowed only two hits, struck out nine, and walked two. He threw 49 strikes on 74 pitches and looked the part of MLB pitcher overmatching minor league hitters.

There’s no point in rushing Bradish back to Baltimore, but is there really a need for him to throw five or six more innings for the Tides? The Orioles will not gain a PPI pick by keeping this potential star in the minors for another week, but fans will have to wait another week to see Bradish—and tonight’s starter Tyler Wells—back at Camden Yards.

Peter Van Loon and Matt Bowman kept the shutout going, but Elvin Rodríguez surrendered a pair in the eighth.

Dylan Beavers continued to crush going 3-for-5 from the leadoff spot. TT Bowens and Vimael Machín both went 2-for-5 with a double, and Jud Fabian recorded a hit in five trips.

Double-A: Chesapeake Baysox 15, Erie SeaWolves (Tigers) 6

The Baysox got the big bats out tonight with 15 runs on 15 hits. Tavian Josenberger, Creed Willems and Adam Retzbach all went deep. Josenberger finished 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored, Willems went 3-for-5 with five RBIs, and Retzbach drove in four with two hits and a sacrifice fly.

Austin Overn finished 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of runs scored from the leadoff spot. Aron Estrada and Douglaas Hodo III both recorded multi-hit nights. Brandon Butterworth was the only Chesapeake player not to record a hit, but the recent trade acquisition still walked twice and drove in a pair.

Nestor German cruised through four shutout innings before finally allowing a few in the fifth. Pitching with an 11-run advantage, German surrendered four runs on some two-out lightening from Erie. German allowed six hits, struck out four, and walked two.

High-A: Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees) 10, Aberdeen IronBirds 1

This one could have gone better. Hudson Valley scored all 10 runs over the first five frames. Yeiber Cartaya allowed eight of the 10 runs over 2.1 innings. Cartaya walked six and surrendered a home run. Michael Caldon did a nice job with 3.1 scoreless innings of mop-up duty.

Edwin Amparo drove in Aberdeen’s only run with a ground out in the second inning. Vance Honeycutt went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts, and Griff O’Ferrall finished 1-for-4. All seven of the IronBirds hits were singles.

Low-A: Lynchburg Hillcats (Guardians) 2, Delmarva Shorebirds 1

Delmarva kept things closer than Aberdeen, but it still only scored one run. Delmarva evened the score on a passed ball in the eighth inning, but Jacob Stretch allowed a walk-off sac fly in the ninth.

Brandon Downer put a positive spin on the loss with 5.2 strong innings. Downer limited Lynchburg to 6 hits, 1 run, and struck out three.

Cobb Hightower finished 0-for-3 with a walk. Braylin Tavera and Luis Almeyda both finished 1-for-4.
