Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is no stranger to rewriting the record books, but he just accomplished a feat not seen in over 125 years. Although the Dodgers were swept by the Los Angeles Angels this week (for the second time this season), Ohtani was one of the few bright spots in a week where the San Diego Padres overtook LA for first place in the NL West.

Additionally, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman spoke on the Dodgers’ relatively quiet trade deadline. To make matters worse, perhaps the biggest acquisition in Brock Stewart has landed on the injured list just four appearances into his (second) stint with the Dodgers.

Speaking of the injured list, the Padres had to place right-hander Michael King back onto it as their presumed starter on Friday, kicking off a series of six games in 10 days against the Dodgers, is now dealing with left knee inflammation. Future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw is set to take the mound Friday night at Dodger Stadium to begin this gauntlet of crucial games, but the pitching he will be facing off against is still TBD.

Bobby Miller as a reliever:

? 6 appearances?? 7 IP?? 3 H??? 1 R?? 5 K?? 1 BB

Last 5 outings:????? 6.0 IP?? 0 H?? 0 R

With limited reliable bullpen arms, LA might want to give Miller a shot as a reliever in the bigs.
