The red-hot Milwaukee Brewers (76–44) visit the Cincinnati Reds (64–58) tonight at Great American Ball Park to open a three-game series.

Milwaukee rides a 12-game winning streak into Cincy and has a strong chance of extending it with Jacob Misiorowski on the mound. The rookie right-hander was activated from the 15-day injured list this afternoon.

In his debut season, Misiorowski is 4–1 with a 2.70 ERA, racking up 47 strikeouts in just 33.1 innings.

Nick Martinez gets the ball for Cincinnati. The veteran is 10–9 with a 4.49 ERA in 2025 — his worst season since 2017. In his lone start against Milwaukee this year, on April 4, he allowed three runs on five hits over 4.2 innings. After a rough June and July with an ERA near 6.00, Martinez enters tonight’s game coming off a gem against the Pittsburgh Pirates, giving up just one run over seven innings.

But he’ll face a Brewers lineup scorching hot in August, batting .323 as a team. Five regulars are hitting above .300 this month, led by Joey Ortiz (.391) and Christian Yelich (.370). Brice Turang is at .317 with six homers, and William Contreras is hitting .340 with 14 RBIs in 12 games.

The Reds trail Milwaukee by 13 games in the NL Central, but a Wild Card spot remains in play. They sit just a half-game behind the free-falling New York Mets, who are 1–9 in their last 10 games. But to leap ahead, they’ll need to stop the Brewers — a task no one has managed in nearly two weeks.

Prediction

Milwaukee has the advantage today with an unstoppable lineup, Misiorowski starting, and a strong bullpen to finish the job. Cincinnati may keep it close early, but expect the Brewers to extend their streak.

Final Score Prediction: Brewers 5, Reds 3
