Diamondbacks RHP Brandon Pfaadt (12-7, 5.03) vs. Rockies RHP Tanner Gordon (2-5, 8.37).

At Coors Field: Pfaadt has not pitched very deep into games of late, but he has won his past two starts. His cutter, developed with the help of teammate Corbin Burnes in spring training, has been inconsistent but important to Pfaadt’s success at times. For all of Pfaadt’s ups and downs in 2025, he leads the Diamondbacks in wins, and his strikeouts-to-walks ratio is a solid 104-to-28. He allowed three earned runs on 11 hits in five innings on Aug. 10 against the Rockies at home. … In that game, the Diamondbacks lit up Gordon to the tune of 10 earned runs on 12 hits over his 4⅔ innings. Gordon has lost his past three starts and four of his past five.
