The Colorado Rockies have officially played 122 games and hold a record of 33-89. They only need to win nine more games to not break the record set by last year’s Chicago White Sox. They might be able to run into a few more wins, but it will still not be an easy feat. Around the division, the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres are surging, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are scuffling (we take the little victories here sometimes). If the season ended today, the Brewers, Phillies and Padres would be the three NL division winners, while the Cubs, Dodgers and Mets would be the three Wild Card teams. In the AL, the Blue Jays, Tigers and Astros are the division leaders and the Mariners, Red Sox and Yankees are the three Wild Cards.
But there’s still plenty of baseball to be played before we even get to playoffs. In the meantime, here’s what our writers were up to this week:
