The White Sox, slippin’ and slidin’ through the dog days of another lost season, lace ’em up for the second of three tonight in Kansas City. The Royals still have delusions of the postseason, while the White Sox just hope to finish at least 12-28 to avoid the outright second-most losses in franchise history. #Goals

Sean Burke takes the bump against Michael Lorenzen, and not for the first time this season the White Sox appear to have at least a slight advantage:

As for the lineups, well, when do the White Sox ever hold the advantage there? The best we’re running out tonight is high-slug, not much else Colson Montgomery and running-on-fumes Mike Tauchman, again as our unlikely leadoff man

There are no real matchup clues vis-a-vis pitcher-batter, but the best I can give you is Benny and Luis Robert Jr. having some significant PAs vs. Lorenzen — and not faring well.

Strap it down for what could be a slugfest — or another eight-hit, one-run, who-got-thrown-out-how? ballgame.

It’s another one of those double-duty Saturdays for me, so let’s all just get through five White Sox games tonight together.
