Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. isn’t just swinging a one-of-a-kind bat during MLB Players’ Weekend. On Saturday, he was showing off shoes designed by his three sons while playing against the Colorado Rockies in Denver.
Gurriel’s otherwise white and gray Air Jordan kicks were adventurously colored by his boys, with purple (of course) stealing the show.

Some zones of the shoe were filled in solidly with colors ranging from orange to teal and pink, but hearts and other scribbles plus the encouraging message “Te amo por siempre,” translated to “I love you always” in English, are also featured.
Gurriel, who is known for his “Pina Power,” also had a couple of pineapples near the top of his laces.
At left field and batting fourth, he put the first run of the ball game on the board with an RBI-single to right field in the first inning. The knock scored second baseman Ketel Marte, who doubled off the right field wall as the designated hitter.
