Brewers fans swarm Milwaukee George Webb’s for free burger vouchers

The Milwaukee Brewers won a 12th consecutive game triggering a George Webb promise of a free burger. Thousands claimed vouchers for the sandwich.

The 2025 Milwaukee Brewers stand alone.

Led by manager Pat Murphy and a cast of never-say-die players, the Brewers are now owners of the longest winning streak in franchise history, surpassing Team Streak of 1987 after securing their 14th straight victory in a tense extra-inning battle with the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Who would be tonight’s hero?

Win No. 14 came from, who else, No. 14.

A night after an electric seven-run rally that set the stage for the win, the Brewers clawed their way back again and knocked off the Reds, 6-5, behind a monumental three-run homer from pinch-hitter Andruw Monasterio in the top of the 11th inning.

They’ve won games during the streak in blowout fashion. They’ve won with surreal walkoffs by the offense and defense. They’ve won with incredible comebacks. They’ve won with record-setting powerful hit parades and with the power of the Uecker bat. They’ve won by eating pancakes and with free burgers on the line. And along the way they’ve exorcised some past demons, too, against some familiar former playoff opponents.

First, the Brewers took down the Washington Nationals for three games in which manager Pat Murphy’s team looked anything but Average Joes when they pounded the ball all over the field, then the brooms stayed out for the Atlanta Braves to complete a 6-0 road trip.

Coming home, the Brewers didn’t stop. They wiped last year’s playoff heartbreak from their minds in beating the nemesis New York Mets for three wild games and they followed it by destroying division foe Pittsburgh Pirates for three, highlighted by getting the best of All-Star Paul Skenes again and capped with the popular George Webb promotion. A 6-0 homestand.

Now, back on the road, the Brewers have won two games against the Cincinnati Reds in unbelievable fashion.

One by one, they all fell at the hands of this relentless, friendship-embodied Brewers team.

Just when it seems like the winning streak might end, there’s some magic in the air. Or maybe there’s just some hard-nosed, tough-as-nails players who all play their role to perfection and don’t want to lose.

While the story of the 2025 Brewers is still being written, this team, which is head and shoulders atop the National League with a 78-44 record and that has two double-digit win streaks in the last two months, will go down in the record books.

The Brewers, who are an almost unthinkable 29-4 since July 6, will now look for an incredible fifth three-game sweep on Sunday and keep their perfect August record (14-0) in tact.

The Milwaukee Brewers have won 14 straight games after a wild affair in which they tied Cincinnati with two outs in the ninth and got a pinch-hit three-run homer from Andruw Monasterio — career SLG: .330 — in the 11th. It ties the sixth-longest MLB winning streak this century.
