The Texas Rangers scored four runs while the Colorado Rockies scored one run.

Kind of a weird one tonight. That’s 2025 Rangers baseball, baby!

The Rockies had two of their five hits in the first inning and scored a run off of Jack Leiter. Texas followed that up with three hits immediately off of Colorado starter Kyle Freeland with the third hit being a three-run home run off the bat of Josh Jung.

From there? Each starter went six innings and neither team scored or really much threatened to score until Jung again went deep in the bottom of the eighth for some glad-to-have-it insurance.

On the hill, Leiter had his best outing since returning from the blister issue that cost him much of April. The celebrated young arm went those six innings and allowed just that first inning run on two hits, three walks, and five strikeouts.

Though he walked three batters, Leiter was living more in the zone perhaps owing to understanding who he was facing. The command was better from Leiter and he was getting a good bit of swings and misses with his good stuff.

It’s the kind of outing to build on for Leiter and ultimately it helped Texas earn their fourth win in a row, their first instance of doing so since winning five in a row in early April.

Player of the Game: Jung has now homered thrice since Sunday and collected three of the Rangers’ eight hits overall with a 3-for-4 night with two dingers and all four of Texas’ RBIs.

Up Next: The Rangers go for a sweep of the Rockies with LHP Patrick Corbin set to pitch in the finale for Texas opposite RHP Antonio Senzatela for Colorado.

The Wednesday evening first pitch from The Shed is again scheduled for 7:05 pm CT and will be telecast on the Rangers Sports Network.
