I’m writing this post on Saturday morning, desperately hoping that when you’re reading it the San Francisco Giants will be on a one-game winning streak, rather than a seven-game losing streak.

The Giants are sending their ace to the mound, as righty Logan Webb makes his league-leading 26th start of the season. The two-time All-Star is 10-9 with a 3.34 ERA, a 2.62 FIP, and 168 strikeouts against 35 walks in a Major League-best 153.2 innings. After back-to-back elite starts, Webb had a tough last game, ceding four runs in 6.1 innings against the San Diego Padres.

On the other side is fellow righty Ryan Pepiot, who also is making his 26th start. He’s 8-9. with a 3.86 ERA, a 4.68 FIP, and 138 strikeouts to 49 walks in 142.1 innings. He also has allowed 26 home runs, most in the American League, so hopefully the Giants can capitalize on that. Just like Webb, Pepiot gave up four runs in 6.1 innings in his last start, though against the less-fearsome Athletics.

Enjoy the game, everyone. Go Giants!
