HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Cal Ripken Baseball league held it’s World Series Championships on Saturday and the 10u title game featured two Hawaii teams.
Manoa faced Hawaii Kai elite, no matter the outcome, Hawaii would be on top, but the bats of Hawaii Kai proved to be too powerful.
Hawaii Kai elite shutout Manoa, 10-0 in four innings of work.
The game capped off an incredible run for the squad who dominated the competition.
HK Elite allowed just four runs in 8 games, while also scoring a whopping 69 runs throughout the tournament.
Head coach Shane Butcher, proud of the way his team showed up in Indiana.
“It’s just amazing, the work that they put in, it’s unbelievable and you know, at least they can say, yeah, it all paid off, it all paid off.“ Butcher told Hawaii News Now.
Coach also tipped his cap to the Manoa squad and spoke about how special it was for two Hawaii teams to make it to a World Series finale.
“we always bump heads with Manoa, we played them in the 8u regionals, you know, we played them in the 9u regional and again, here we’re crossing paths in the World Series, Hawaii baseball is alive.” Butcher said.
Hawaii Kai Elite made it to the World Series after capturing the 9u Southwest Regional title in 2024 and had to wait an entire year to compete for the world title.
