Happy Sunday, Sox fans! Well, as happy as a Sunday can be as your team looks to avoid a series sweep. The Chicago White Sox will play one more game at Kauffman Stadium, as they look to finish off an ugly series strong. They haven’t had the best luck against the Royals the last few seasons, and especially in Kansas City.

Martin is 4-9 with a 4.17 ERA in what has been an overall decent season for his thus far. His last few outings have been around the five-inning mark, which is typically what you can expect when he is on the mound. He recently just reached 100 innings for the season, in which he has 70 strikeouts and a 1.30 WHIP.

Bergert is pitching in his 14th game of the season, as he has a 1-1 record and 2.87 ERA. He has started nine times. The righty was acquired at the trade deadline from San Diego for catcher Freddy Fermin, and was originally drafted by the Padres in 2021. He made his debut this season, as has been extremely solid so far. His last outing at the Minnesota Twins he went 5 2/3 IP with four hits, two runs, one walk, and eight strikeouts. Let’s hope the team can slow down Bergert’s hot start with the Royals this afternoon.

Mike Tauchman leads it off, followed by Lenyn Sosa and Colson Montgomery. Miguel Vargas hits cleanup, Andrew Benintendi in left, and the catching duo Edgar Quero and Kyle Teel will finally both be in the lineup together again. Chase Meidroth and Brooks Baldwin round it out. Luis Robert Jr. gets the day off.

Game time is at 1:10 p.m. CT on CHSN, and listen in to the radio broadcast with Len and DJ today on WGN instead of ESPN 1000.
