BTS V is making headlines once again, this time not for music but for a special appearance at a major sports event. He is currently in the United States with the group to work on their much awaited comeback album. The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed that the South Korean star will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on August 25 during their game against the Cincinnati Reds. The announcement, made along with a photo of the K-pop star, instantly left fans, aka ARMYs, overjoyed, as it’s a rare chance to see their idol on such a grand stage.
Back in 2019, Suga had visited Dodger Stadium to cheer for his favourite pitcher, Ryu Hyun-jin. Now, V’s announcement comes shortly after South Korean football star Son Heung-min was also given the honour last week. The excitement around V’s appearance grew even more when Dodgers pitcher Blake Ashton Snell dropped a comment on the team’s announcement post.
After the announcement was made, V fans rushed to book their seats for the big game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds. The sudden demand caused heavy traffic on ticketing platforms, due to which the portal was inaccessible.
All seven members, J Hope, Jin, Jimin, RM, V, Suga and Jungkook recently completed their mandatory military service. The group has reunited in the United States to work on their comeback album, which is set to release in 2026, after which BTS will entertain fans around the globe with their world tour. This will be their first global tour since 2022, when they released their anthology album Proof and held the special Yet to Come concert in Busan.
Most recently, BTS gifted fans a special surprise by coming together for a short Weverse live session from the beach. RM, Jin, Jimin, Suga, J Hope, V and Jungkook appeared together for a 7 minute broadcast, where they greeted ARMYs and shared happy moments together.
Even though the live was short, it was enough to confirm that all seven members are officially back as a group and are busy preparing for their next album.
