Cincinnati Reds centerfielder TJ Friedl exited Tuesday night’s home game against the Chicago White Sox in the fifth inning because of apparent injury.

Friedl appeared to suffer a badly bruised left forearm when hit by a pitch in the bottom of the third inning, then got banged up in a collision with shortstop Elly De La Cruz on a shallow fly to center in the top of the fourth.

He was examined by the head trainer each time but stayed in the game until Will Benson took over in center to start the fifth.
