Below are a couple prospects that stood out both at the plate and on the mound in the last week of baseball.
Cole has been on this list a bunch this season. The 10th rounder from 2022 has put together a strong season and was really hot over the last week. In five games for the Hooks, Cole hit .520 with 3 doubles, a triple, a home run and 6 runs batted in. This year he had a .868 OPS in 77 games. Cole has some swing and miss in his game, but the potential is real and he still projects as someone who can make a big league roster.
Aguilar had a nice season in the Florida Complex League earning him a promotion to Fayetteville. In his first outing in Single-A, the right-hander tossed 5 no-hit innings with 8 strikeouts. Overall this season he has a 1.81 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 49.2 innings. Aguilar is only 21-years-old and with a strong finish this season, the Astros could be aggressive and start him in High-A in 2026.
