There were fireworks at Pierrefonds’ Alexander Park as the Pierrefonds Dodgers rocked 21 hits, including a game-high nine in the bottom of the second. That barrage led to a 13-2 win over the Valleyfield Reds in Lac St. Louis Baseball League 9U A play. Dodger hitters rapped out 19 singles, a double and a home run in the win. Four Pierrefonds players went 3-for-3 in the game, which were converted into nine of the 13 runs.
Valleyfield broke the Dodgers’ shutout bid in the top of the third inning. David Bernard and Kyle Prevost made their way around the bases to home. Isak Côté and Olivier Giguère picked up the rbi’s. Ludovic Pellerin cracked a two-bagger in the Reds final turn at the plate.
The top of the Dodger line-up proved potent, starting with leadoff hitter Kay-Dihn Tran, followed by Simon Delorme and Jordan Alfonso-Carrier in the third slot. All were perfect at the plate, scored three-times each and Alfonso-Carrier logged four ribbies. Three of those came on his homerun shot in the home half of the second inning. Damiano Garreffa had the other extra-base hit for Pierrefonds as he stroked a double in bottom of the third. Garreffa earned a pair of rbi’s with that hit as it sent Simon and Alfonso-Carrier touching home. He then scored the final Dodger run on a single off the bat of Aiden Flood. n
