The Texas Rangers have placed pitcher Cole Winn on the 15 day injured list with nerve irritation in his hand, the team announced today. To take his place on the active roster, the Rangers have recalled pitcher Jacob Latz.
The expectation had been that Latz would return to the majors for today’s game, given that Jacob deGrom is not making his start today as was originally scheduled. Caleb Boushley is the starter today, not Latz, but I suspect that Latz would follow Boushley and potentially make the Royals have to decide whether to swap out platoon guys early.

We shall have to see what the deal is with Winn, and whether this is going to be a short i.l. stint or something that will keep him out longer. He’s generally been pretty good out of the pen this year, yesterday’s unfortunate events notwithstanding. Him returning sometime in September and finishing the year strong would be a very fine thing.
